This art is called "Rubbing Alcohol." I made it by painting a paper green with watercolor and then spraying it with rubbing alcohol over the top which made a cool design.
Next, I made an "Oil Pastel Resist." How I made this I drew an oil pastel drawing of Blackey and then I covered it with watercolor. The pastel is hydrophobic which means it doesn't like water and this causes the watercolor to move away from it and you can still see the colors.
This next one is called "Wet on Wet." It was made by spraying a piece of cardstock with water and then painting over that and it almost splotches it out into an awesome design. Mine was going to be a rainbow, but I saw a really cool thing that my friend was making and decided to do that. It turned into this!
I also made this one called "Salting." This was made by painting on the cardstock with watercolor and then sprinkling salt on it which made a cool design.
The next one I made is called "Pencil." I drew a circle with a pencil and filled it with watercolor.
The last one is called "Stripes!" I did this one by first I lightly brushed across with watercolor and a brush in different layers into a bunch of high-pressure streams and they get darker and darker.
OH, and ONE MORE THING....
We saw this HUGE beetle this morning by the pond at Montessori. It is the biggest one I have ever seen. He was there when I went in this morning and when I left.
